DHMC honored with Outstanding Achievement Award for employee health and wellness program

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center's Live Well/Work Well program was honored with the New Hampshire Governor's Council on Physical Activity and Health 2010 Outstanding Achievement Award for Physical Activity and Health in the Worksite Wellness category on Wednesday, May 26, during a ceremony at the State House.
The awards are presented each year to organizations and individuals who have made a significant impact on the health of New Hampshire residents by promoting healthy lifestyles through physical activity and fitness programs. The New Hampshire Governor's Council on Physical Activity and Health is charged with the responsibility of promoting a healthy lifestyle for all New Hampshire residents, through an emphasis on physical activity and fitness, working in cooperation with all sectors of society.
The Live Well/Work Well program at Dartmouth-Hitchcock was introduced in April 2009, as part of D-H's ongoing commitment to a healthy and happy workplace, providing a physical environment that fosters a culture of health. The Live Well/Work Well program is a centralized health and well-being program that offers employees and their families the resources to be able to enjoy healthier lifestyle to do what they want to do at work and at home. Programs include health coaching, nutritional support, on-site fitness classes and personal instruction.
