DHMC's Pathology Residency is a program capable of being tailored to the interests and needs of each of our residents. We practice in state-of-the-art facilities and a first-class clinical laboratory. We prepare residents for academic, sub-specialty, or general pathology careers.

Cytopathology Fellowship Program: offered at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) in Lebanon, NH.
This ACGME-accredited one-year fellowship program offers advanced training in diagnostic cytopathology. The Cytopathology Laboratory processes a total of 40,000 specimens annually, of which 4,000 are non-gynecologic including fine-needle aspirations. Teaching is provided through conferences, didactic sessions and daily sign-out of gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens as well as training in performance and interpretation of fine needle aspiration biopsies.

Dermatopathology is a unique specialty in that it requires expertise in both Pathology and in Dermatology to provide optimal patient care. This program accepts candidates from both Pathology and Dermatology backgrounds.

The Department of Pathology offers a one-year ACGME-accredited fellowship in hematopathology. The program is designed to provide the trainee broad exposure to all facets of diagnostic hematopathology.

Transfusion Medicine Fellowship Program: offered at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) in Lebanon, NH.
This ACGME-accredited fellowship is designed to provide a wide scope of experience in transfusion medicine, including hospital transfusion service with trauma level 1 support, a blood donor program, therapeutic apheresis, cellular therapy, HLA typing and infectious disease testing.
