Maps & Directions

The 9-bed Hematology Oncology Special Care Unit (HSCU) is strategically located adjacent to its larger sister, Medical Hematology Oncology (MHO) and is well integrated. All of the rooms in the nine-bed unit are hepa-filtered for the transplant population and are equipped with telemetry monitoring. The unit was designed with both nurses and patients in mind. For example, the patients/ rooms are all within twelve feet of the nurse/s station. Our surroundings are cheerful and overlook the mountains and beautiful wooded campus.

Unit Culture

We are a small, intimate nursing team that benefits from working collaboratively with the Hematology/Oncology physicians and the various disciplines. We also have our own medical director who works closely with the nursing staff. We offer 12-hour shifts with a variety of rotations and excellent nurse-to-patient ratios. Our staff is supportive of a shared governance practice model that has continued to mature and grow over the past several years. Shared governance has empowered the professional nursing staff to contribute collectively on decision-making related to practice, professional development and resource management. We strive for excellence in providing state-of-the-art patient care for our high acuity population.
