RNs and LPNs

This orientation is for all hospital and clinic RNs and LPNs, though your schedule may vary.

General orientation

All employees begin employment by attending general orientation on Monday. View the schedule of the day. General orientation is held at DHMC in the auditoriums to the right of the Main Rotunda Information desk and runs from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Electronic health record training

New employees that require access to eD-H, the electronic health record, must attend eD-H training in the Colburn Hill Classrooms on Tuesdays from 7:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Experienced nurse orientation

After attending general orientation and eD-H training, newly hired experienced RNs and LPNs participate in Experienced Nurse Orientation (ENO). ENO is offered on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, April 3
  • Tuesday, May 1
  • Tuesday, June 12
  • Tuesday, July 24
  • Tuesday, August 21 

If your hire date coincides with the week the Experienced Nurse Orientation program starts, you will attend ENO immediately after eD-H training on Tuesday.

If your hire date does not coincide with the week the Experienced Nurse Orientation program starts, please consult with your manager and/or clinical educator about your participation.

Your full orientation schedule will be available to you on the first day of ENO.

Wednesday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
ENO location

ENO begins on Tuesdays at 12:00 p.m. Please gather in front of the East Mall Cafe on Level 3.

If you are coming from eD-H training, please take the DHMC Campus Shuttle Bus to the East Entrance of DHMC. You can wait for the shuttle bus in front of the main Colburn Hill building, or in the bus shelter in Lot 20. After you arrive at the East Entrance, go inside the building and turn left. Please gather in front of the East Mall Cafe on Level 3.You will be met by an associate of the Office of Professional Nursing who will take you to your classroom.
