Become a Volunteer
Ongoing volunteers commit to volunteering on a regular basis for a minimum of six months.
This part-time, unpaid labor force supports the mission of Dartmouth-Hitchcock by providing important services in a wide variety of roles. If you are interested in joining this diverse and exciting group, we invite you to learn more about our program and find a match for your talent and time.
Before you apply to become a volunteer, we ask that you review the following information to familiarize yourself with the application process.
- Apply to Become a DHMC Volunteer
- Volunteer Requirements

- Volunteer Training
- Volunteer Guidelines
- Contact Volunteer Services (DHMC)
The application process includes more than just submitting your application; interviews, gathering documentation, and orientation all take time. Please be aware that the complete application process can take up to month from start to finish.
Your volunteer training will depend on where you are placed. Some departments require new volunteers to "shadow" a seasoned volunteer in order to learn necessary skills.
