Life in Concord
Concord, New Hampshire's state capital, is set on the beautiful Merrimack River in the center of the state. With more than 270 years of history, the city is not only rated as one of the best places in which to live and work, but is also the center of some of the finest health care networks in northern New Hampshire.
Concord is only 20 minutes north of the Manchester Airport, providing easy access for travel. New Hampshire's seacoast is about an hour’s drive, while Boston is less than an hour and a half away.
Concord and surrounding areas offer a variety of destinations to enjoy skiing, antiquing, arts, museums, athletics, and much more. Popular cultural attractions include Canterbury Shaker Village, the Museum of New Hampshire History, the Christa McAuliffe Planetarium, and the New Hampshire International Speedway.
The cost of living in New Hampshire is one of the lowest in New England, with no state income tax or sales tax. Noted for exceptional public and private schools in the area, Concord was named by Expansion Management magazine as a Gold Medal district for offering the highest quality public education in the state. It is also the home to the renowned St. Paul’s private preparatory school, Franklin Pierce Law Center, New Hampshire’s only law school, New Hampshire Technical Institute, and the Granite State Symphony Orchestra.
