People come to the Upper Valley for many reasons. You might be drawn to the natural beauty, endless outdoor activities, or the cultural offerings of a thriving University community. Or you might be drawn to the fact that both New Hampshire and Vermont were recently listed as two of the top ten places to raise a family based on factors such as health and safety, socioeconomics, and education.

No matter what your reason for coming to New Hampshire or Vermont, you can be sure that you will experience a high quality of life. According to the State of New Hampshire’s “Life Index”, a compilation of independent national studies on quality of life among the 50 states, New Hampshire rates number one in an independent study of quality of life in 50 states. Vermont ranks number three in the same study.
